4 Month Check-Up!

(4 months)

Ashton has his 4 month check up today. Good lord, he's a big boy.... 16 lb 11.8 oz nekkid, 26 1/4 inch long and 17 1/2 head circ! Dr. Keith was happy with his growth and told me that what I thought was to worry with the spit up/reflux is nothing to really be worried about. YAY! Cutting out the EXTRA milk I was drinking helped a ton.

Reese was so sweet when she told me before the doctor came in to check him "Mommy, I don't like it when Ashton gets his shots, he screams so hard!"

Think she keeps having flashbacks from the first time she saw him get his first bath at the hospital and he screamed his head off and it scared her.

Festival of Lights

This year we did a little something different. Instead of heading down to Wheeling, West Virginia to Oglebay for Christmas lights, Scott found Alum Creek in Delaware, Ohio (near Columbus) that has a wonderful set up of lights that you can drive through and to kill 2 birds with one stone, photos with SANTA!

So at around 4PM we got dressed in our Santa photo best, piled into the van and headed out and grabbed some grub on the way!

The kids did great, even Ashton! Reese and Riley loved being able to stand up in the front passenger section of the van to look at everything. Yelling out all and any characters that they recognized. I really liked how the lights were close to the road and close together.... it was more interactive. Don't get us wrong, Oglebay is REALLY nice, but Alum Creek's Festival of Lights was just as nice!

We did have to hang out in the little boat house with about 100 other people waiting for photos with Santa, yay I was able to take the photo myself for the same price $5!, but it was well worth it. Especially since ALL the kids were looking at the camera! Riley was SO EXCITED. She tried to break the line to run up to him. Reese so all too eager to let Santa know she wanted "cupcakes"…. Not the real ones, the ones from the Rose Pedal Cottage collection. Riley asked for a "doorbell"…. Which we thought she meant to say Dora, but after retrospect, she wanted another BELL from the Polar Express!

Ladies Man Already!

I had a dental cleaning this afternoon and they don't like to have kids, even infants, back in the rooms when the parents are having their appointment so Ashton stayed up front with the receptionist. I went about my cleaning and I could hear Ashton getting fussy and with such a wonderful nursing staff, the nurse came back and asked if it was ok to pick him up out of the infant seat. Of course I said yes, and he was in "babe heaven." WHAT A FREAKING FLIRT. Even Dr. D came in to do a final check and said "your little one is up front having a ball.... smiling and talking up a storm."

But.... with a face like this, how could you resist?

Poor Little Guy

I have been worried about Ashton the past couple of days with silent and sometimes not so silent reflux (did 2 hours of research online, spoke to Kim and a call to my peds yesterday)......though today after cutting out drinking extra milk (with chocolate added) and having yogurts as snacks he seems to be doing MUCH better and the green poops are now becoming more yellow tinged. But still not ruling out reflux.... I want to give an over indulgence of lactose free diet for 2 weeks to see if that helps. Even in one day it's improved.
