(5 weeks 1 day)
A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine met us at Mom's Night Out and she was discussing her soon to be open business of cloth diapers that she makes by hand. I've always been interested in cloth diapering, but I'm one of those people with a million questions and wanted some first hand experience on doing them, outside of a diapering service. Laura was definitely it! We discussed her diapers, and she had brought 2 for another gal who didn't come and let me have them to try and give my feedback on. Within the week I was sold.... I was 100% on board with doing them, and even Scott... which I was a little surprised, but happy he was good to go with it.
I know that some people are going to say "Oh good lord...." but well, if potty training for boys holds true Ashton will be in some sort of diaper/training pant until almost the age of 4 and spending anywhere from $60 or more a month on diapers and wipes.... it was worth it to me since I'm the one that's in charge of that stuff. Not to mention that I can resell any and all of my diapers / wipes when I'm done.... don't believe me, do a search in eBay.
Soooo today..... I started 24/7 cloth diapering as my "stash" of diapers came in, and it's going so far so good!! I love these AIO's [All-in-Ones] and having to only do laundry every 2 days, and they are SUPER easy clean, which means you treat it JUST like a disposable but wash it, no gross stuff involved.... though I'm finding that people are as passionate about their choice of which cloth diapers to use just like what type if disposables..... including IRL..... just had a comment made to me yesterday, but brushed it off.... what works for one obviously doesn't work for all... and so far, after about 2 1/2 weeks of using cloth diapers part time .. I love the snaps and the AIO's.... I don't like the pocket type of cloth diapers and I haven't tried prefolds, not really wanting to either....... but either way, Ashton is super cute in his CD's, and it's helping Reese and Riley with their colors!
