(3 days)
Just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for all the congratulations and well wishes on our newest addition!!! I’m happy to say that I went into labor on my own, an even though he did come 2 days early, and yes, my mom did miss the birth ), HOWEVER it was a WONDERFUL birth experience and just having Scott with me was really great. He kept me in stitches, and the nurses, pretty much the entire time! I made him keep notes during my entire labor, so I hopefully will have a pretty good birth story typed up and ready to read in a few days….
We had our FIRST night home last night and everything went really well!!! I changed him and he nursed twice and slept for about 3 hour stretches, he's a TOTAL BOOB MAN. OMG, he nurses ALL THE TIME! My milk came in in less than 48 hours!!!!! The nurses were all amazed at how much he nursed.... and I'm not talking a few minutes here and there, he nursed for 1 1/2 hours as soon as he was born, then on average 45 - 2 hours. LOL Now that my milk is in it's down to about 20 - 40 minutes, but dang.... I ended up getting him a "I'm a Boob Man" onesie and bib. The running joke at L&D was there was no way I was going to be able to nurse in church because he was a noisy eater! Seriously, he oinks. But I’m happy to say, I’m in love with another man.
Ashton definitely looks like his sisters, and really looks like Reese when she was born! It’s uncanny! Definitely can’t deny that this child is OURS. He even has Scott's ears!
I’m attaching some photos, I have more from yesterday and last night, haven’t uploaded them yet. The girls are enamored by Ashton, Reese is very inquisitive and really wanting to help. Riley on the other hand isn’t 100% sure what to make of him yet, and will stand about 3 feet from him… but then will come up to him while I’m nursing or when he’s sleeping and pat his little arm and say “That’s Ashton.” Melt my heart!
Scott is off of work until Thursday, and then he leaves for California next week, but home on weekends, thank god. My mom will be flying out on the 30th, and my MIL has already said she’ll come and pick up the girls when needed.
Other than that, just going to get into the grove of raising 3 kiddos!! Wow, so strange to say “Him/He” which I still call Ashton “her/she”… that I’m going to have to get used to! hehe and that I have 3 children and we are a family of FIVE!!
