Go Ashton, Go Go Ashton! Go Ashton Go!

As Ashton was on the floor playing with Reese and myself he was trying to move forward doing the whole up on all 3 thing, but he sat back up and started to scoot/bounce on his butt. Of course he thought it was hysterical as Reese was laughing uncontrollably, but also due to the fact that each time he moved another snap unsnapped from his outfit!

This is also in the same few days that Ashton has learned to jump forward in his Jumperoo that then catapults him backwards in a swinging motion! He'll lift his feet and allow his motion let him swing a bit before he jumps again. He's jumped so hard at times he's jumped outside the front metal bar/foot portion! Of course he dies laughing.

What a BEAUTIFUL St. Patrick's Day indeed!!! It hit 70 degrees today!

And as it was shameful to be inside if it couldn't be helped, so I packed up the kids, lunch and loaded up the car to head up to "Daddy's Zoo" aka the Cleveland Zoo, for the day!

We had SUCH a good time, however, think it's probably one of our last visits there until at least next year or even 2011 due to all the construction and the semi use of trams and shuttle buses.... too much effort when we have a fine zoo less than 10 minutes away. I do see several trips down to Columbus and over to Pittsburgh in our near future!

I'm addicted! I admit it! And I've even gotten the girls interested in everything I've been making for Ashton as they are my official tasters! I get an "it's taste" or "Too tasty" from Riley... or an "MMMMM" or "Too tasty mommy" from Reese.

While at Sav-A-Lot doing some shopping I looked at their produce section and found that they had ripe avocados still on sale, mangos (still need 2 - 3 days to ripen), sweet potatoes and gala apples! I made 3 more jars of avocados, 8 1/2 jars from the sweet potatoes and another 7 or so jars of homemade applesauce! Not bad for roughly $5 and some change!

I let the girls try avocado, again, they ate that stuff like made when they were infants.... mixed with oatmeal even!, but Riley started gagging after about 2 large pieces and Reese spit it out after one bite. I know it's an acquired taste, or it has to be reacquired in their instance. Eventually they will eat it with me like candy! They both were very interested in the seed. I remember as a kid making them sprout in a cup of water and some tooth picks with my Grandma Lu.

So I figured that even before I puree the mangoes I've already made over 20 jars/cubes of food in the last couple of days.... and he goes through 1 jar a day and 4 - 5 more items for him to try so the next month is ready to go.... which bums me out knowing I need to slow down as to not get TOO far ahead, though knowing how long stuff can stay frozen helps a ton! www.stilltasty.com

And I'm starting to think of what things can be made into cubes or jars…. Such as the bananas that are too ripe sitting on the counter that I know won't be eaten in the next few days, but will keep for months in the freezer!
